Supply Chain Integrity
We are building the smart drug delivery system concept for extracts in pharmaceutical industry. It will be a key enabler for managing future complexity and for satisfying growing requirements from customers. We are investigating drug delivery device-performance and user-requirements on one side and on the other side we are giving much focus on optimizing the production and distribution processes. Together we are able to control complete process from origin to final product. We are going to establish information system which will be able to track and trace every product at every step and give required insight. The only step in process we don’t control yet is final distribution to the customer. We see primary and secondary packaging of a drug as core element of the whole distribution process. We want to make it robust and ready for optimal protection.
We believe Origintrail protocol and ecosystem can help us to establish necessary low-level foundation for higher level applications which will enable:
- Supply chain digitization / Autonomous programs
- Proactive demand sensing
- Counterfeiting protection
- End-to-end data availability / Data interoperability and connectivity
- Smart sensors, mobile and tracking solutions
- Smart warehousing / Multistage delivery / Outsourced manufacturing and logistics networks
Our team will put together these „enablers“ into a coherent working model which will include Patron dispenser 2.0 concept. We believe Origintrail model enables us most positive environment to build new services and to become compliant with standards like GS1. During development of new techniques and technologies we believe that Origintrail protocol will help us to make the necessary changes the industry and market will require from us.
The biggest advantage is not mine personally but from the teams we’ve started to collaborate very closely with. As a most relevant achievement, I would choose a working product of the company Patron, which I believe is a core value for asupply chain solution. Because truly smart supply chains need a smart product, it is a perfect fit for delivery of high value extracts.
The pharmaceutical supply chain is becoming more and more fragmented, with different models for different product types and patient segments. Customers want to get their medicines faster and easier than ever, so supply chains must be fast and agile. Separated manufacturing and lots of individually extracted drugs make things even worse. Yet, the quality of the drug should never be under question. Most pharma companies develop new products first and then scale up the supply chains, which is too late. As a consequence, supply chains are not optimized. Spreadsheets are still prevalent and data is still siloed in ERP, MES, and other data sources. Error-prone manual processes, guesswork due to incomplete data and data latency have a decidedly negative impact on the supply chain. The reality is that even the biggest pharmaceutical companies struggle to get supply chain data promptly from critical suppliers, distributors and other company sites.
At first, we want to enable safety and effectively delivering of drug and medicine for our partner Freyherr. Through practice and research, we would like to build a supply chain model that will offer an alternative solution to existing models by servicing both internal and external stakeholders.
Because we want to help people to use natural extracts safely and conveniently.
