Synchronization is needed during planting, monitoring of production in relation to weather and possible other barriers, and the design of menu systems to ensure that harvest is purchased and consumed with as little or no waste as possible. We, as intermediaries, need each producer not to negotiate with one or two buyers, but we arrange for the collection of orders, their processing, the organization of purchase and logistics, and documentation support - the work that is now done manually will be in the future through a new digital platforms.

In June 2017, Nena Dokuzov was (with the team) preparing the event SLO Blockchain Meetup 2017. She called Lilijana, if she came to Vitanje to introduce ""Digital Short Supply Chain"". Lilijana went to Vitanje on 30 June 2017 and, together with some other social economy entrepreneurs, showed an analogue short supply chain that was digitized to a video clip. The attendees agreed that a short supply chain linking small providers and brokers needs to be digitized in all stakeholder-friendly way. AND = BUT. That evening Lilijana (in the Cultural and Economic Center of European Space Technologies - KSEVT in Vitanje) has listened to experts from BLOCKCHAIN technology, especially dr. Boris Horvat from Abelium, and the idea that food security is also an area that must be supported by blockchain technology was born.
The first two months after establishment were months of learning and developing an innovative entrepreneurial idea in a TOP! entrepreneurship program at Primorski tehnološki park (Slovenia). First, we convinced the internal commission and qualified for the finalists, then on 12 December 2017, and won the "Change the rules of the game" networking event. We were rewarded with recording a promotional video.

The problem we are dealing with is food security. Organizations that prepare meals for their service users (kindergartens, schools, hospitals, homes for the elderly) depend on the just-in-time delivery of raw materials. In order to bring their dishes into sync with foods that are available on a farm seasonally, they need information. If the organizer of the diet does not have the guarantee that the local seasonal vegetables, fruits and products will be supplied, for the sake of reliability, they may decide to order imported, low-quality foods. The ambition of the ORCHit Platform and Ecosystem is to include existing and new suppliers in a friendly way, which have the potential to grow and provide the required quantities in the desired quality, as well as existing and new customers who are introducing seasonally locally produced foods to the menus. Synchronization is needed during all phases of the process.
The supply of good food is a segment that is growing all over the world. We are fortunate that even users of services in public institutions want to know from what foods are ready meals that are consumed and paid. Slovenia as well as Europe are not self-sufficient. The ambition of the countries (s) and society is to raise the share of self-sufficiency and to ensure food security. The biggest obstacle to failing this is too much administration. By transferring manual documentation to a digital platform with functionalities adapted to the needs and skills of users, we achieve a burden on farmers and cooks, increased security for buying on the side of farmers and the supply on the cooking side contributes to lower prices and thereby increase the share of locally produced food in kitchens of public institutions.
Our business (our activity) is built on the complete traceability of the origin of vegetables, fruits, crops, products from these crops, bakery products and milk and dairy products, which is also your case; We believe that we can successfully link our good practice and the ambition of further growth, which is not possible until we improve the flow of information among short supply chain stakeholders, and on this basis we improve food security, food quality, reliability of supplies and more seasonal local foods on the menu organizations where children, sick people and the elderly are eating
